Accord Type S 18" Tyre Recommendation

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymetric 3
Quiet riding, excellent grip on dry and wet, low rolling resistance and soft sidewall so good driving quality.

i have 235 40 18 on the front and 18 235 45 on the back from the previous owner, is this correct?

i did a search and seems to me it should be 18 225 40 on the front??

On the website of Michelin are 3 variants avaliable for this model.
Check the sticker of the tyres on your car to be sure

Yeah most people go with 225/40 . II'm in the process of getting some OEM 8x18s for mine but will be going with 235/40 for a bit more comfort.

Anyone tried 215/45?

This is almost a year old, but.......

The correct OEM Tyre size for the Type S is 235/45 x 18 all round.

hey guys i have 8th gen euro 2009 accord, and i want to upgrade new alloys to 19inch,
and i want the larger possible tyres on the back, more than 235
how much i can go larger that fits well please,245,255?

Depends on the offset and width of your rim and how low your car is.

A 7.5 inch rim won’t hold any tyre wider than 235 safely for example.

tks for your reply
everything standard i have,tyres,alloys,and springs.

the back tyres i wish to make them larger than the front,so 255,19inch is possible ?
tks

im not understanding the 7.5inch rim number meaning, pls help?
cos mine standard are 17inch, and i want to upgrade to 19inch,with 255 width if its possible

Ok so which particular rims are you going for and what width are they? And what offset? For a 255 wide tyre I believe you need a rim that is minimum 8” wide and if you’re not lowering it then you might be able to go as low as ET40 offset (standard offset is ET55)

hey tks for your answer, sorry for my late reply.

if you can please i need help from you, how the size and details of the rim should be to fit the 255/40/r19 ?

tks so i can go to search for them
many tks

Not sure how else to answer the question. Will you be lowering the car or not?

im thinking to lowering yes, but im not sure if itsworthed or not on 19inch alloys.

I bought some 18" alloys for mine and sized the tyres at 225 45 18 for recommended best results.
Went with Autogreen tyres, good spec for the price.

What load rating are those tyres? I had to go for 98 on the Tourer
I fitted Falken FK510 in 235/45-18 98Y, so far very pleased with their wet performance.

They are 95W and so far very happy with the handling wet and dry.
Fitted at National Tyres:
https://www.national.co.uk/tyres-search?Width=225&Profile=45&Diameter=18&Rating=&LoadIndex=&Brand=autogreen

The size was the best match for the originals which were 225/50/17 working out to a diameter of 656.8mm
New size is 225/45/18 working out to a diameter of 659.7mm
