Brake problems

Hi all,

I have been hearing some noises from my brakes for a while now. It only comes on cold starts.

when applying the brakes when I first start off I can hear a clunking sound coming from beneath the car (feels like its coming from under my drivers seat !). This occurs for the first 1-2minutes

Also a screech can be heard when applying the brakes. This goes on every time I apply the brakes for about 4-5minutes.

The brakes are working fine, any ideas ?

The brakes pads are old but at last check there was still life in them.

Brakes need a strip down, clean and regreased. Sounds like the pad is sticking in the calliper

Shine a light on the pads, check for thickness, there are "warning" irons on the inside that will give you a noise like that.

Could also be dust covers

here is an image of the front drivers side pad. How much brake pad is left ? also does the disc look in ok condition ?

All looks ok. Loads of meat on that pad, but if the sliders are sticking you can get uneven pad wear, so the condition of the outer pad may not match the inner one.
