If I do a stage one remap on my diesel Accord and blank the EGR off, do I also need to gut the DPF?

I've read the EGR is used for DPF regeneration and without an EGR the DPF can't regenerate, so it will become blocked then ruin the turbo, is this the case?

Thanks

If you want to have peace in mind is a smart choise do delete both when remaping

I'm not sure a 7th Gen cdti has a DPF.

My 2004 certainly doesn't.

Edit; Quick research and no the cdti was not fitted with a DPF

ﹰMy pre-facelift had a DPF - Door Pocket Full.

One of the criteria I had before purchase was to get a vehicle without DPF. Some of the vans I have driven in the past three years have been on the verge of dangerous when the regeneration process cut in, not just the driver but those behind.

Are you guys sure that Accord 03-07 have an DPF?
Now i checked and from what i can find it have a PRECAT so two CAT ( one right after the turbocharger and on uder the car )
The "same" engine in the Civic 06- have the DPF.
On mine there wasn't a DPF... It's a facelift model

No Accord ICTDI is fitted with a DPF.

Some civic ICTDI cars in Europe are fitted with a DPF and I know this because I've tuned ecu's from various countries now.

Apparantley the DPF was an option on the ICTDI civic in the uk but I'm yet to see one.

And in answer to the original posters question, removing an egr doesn't stop the DPF from regenerating.
