Hi guys well went to view a 2.2 idtec es gt yesterday 8 hour round trip it has nav and reversing camera parking sensors and all the other standard toys took it for a 15 mile test drive and got to say Wow love it can't wait until I pick It up on Tuesday be my second Honda as had an ep3 type r around 5 years ago and then went my navara pickup which has snapped and been bought back by nissan. Anyway few questions guys one of the fog lights has cracked anyone know where to source a replacement and also the key buttons look worn any way to freshen these up and am also after a oem gear gaiter and knob thanks for any help guys just to add it has full Honda service history with a full service and new dpf done 1 mile ago yes that's right 1 mile.

Welcome, and yes you will love it, re spot lamps "silly things" you will be renewing them for ever, especially when the council starts re surfacing with tar and chips. I got fed up, cut some thick clear plastic and glued it over the cracked one, still there after 2 years, hardly ever use them either. Re the key how good/bad is your memory? only four to remember! also do not forget to "open" the door button twice, or your passenger will be left standing outside or worse break the door handle trying to get in, another Honda"ism. Do not take too much notice of the camera view when reversing, and those beepers will drive you mad. I see a new DPF has been fitted, what milage was that at? a good way to avoid DPF TROUBLE IS TO DRIVE THE CAR. Kick Miss daisy out. I had a 7 diesel prior to my 8, and this one is even better than that, happy journeys.

Hi.

Whole key case plus buttons can be obtained from eBay at about £14 for a copy, the buttons are silver not chrome, easy to change out the buttons I think I saw a youtube vid how to do it! did mine about a month ago all OK.

As for oem gear gaiter and knob give Holdcroft Honda a call - see traders list on this site.

Cheers guys dpf was changed at 103k and it's still on 103k it has done 1 mile since service and dpf done although I put 20 on it on the test drive haha

Hi guys another quick question I picked my accord up last night and have to say it's amazing bur noticed on the way back whenever I put my foot down there was alot of smoke coming out of the back would this be because it's been sat for 3 weeks or is there something I should check thanks guys

IMO that does not seem right, my 2.2 with 90k does not produce any smoke apart from when cold.

Did it come from a Honda dealer? I see you had quite a trip to collect it, have a word with the seller, it could be the new DPF settling down, but best to query it.

Thanks guys panic over spoke to dealer today and he said it's probably a mixture of new dpf and being sat for 3 weeks unstarted until I viewed it Saturday but have been for a 35 mile drive tonight and it's perfect thanks guys can't get over how economical these are I filled it up last night when I got it drove the 190 miles home 20 miles each way for work today and 35 miles tonight and I still got a full tank are they normally this good

Do you know if the DPF was a genuine honda DPF?

I had one that had an aftermarket DPF in a few weeks back. It landed on a tow truck because the turbo was completely blocked.

We had it in 2 days for a full turbo strip down and clean..

Fuel economy is good, however the fuel gauge would seem not to be linear! takes ages to get to half full then less than that to empty!

Yes fa6had was a genuine Honda dpf fitted by Honda garage but will be giving u a call in the next couple of weeks to have dpf oit anyway
