Ok so I'm going to be buying some Honda alloy wheels. Firstly is the pcd of 114.3 correct and what I need and secondly which locking wheel nut I.e flat seat or tapered plus what size?
I will be buying Honda alloys not aftermarket jobbies.

Cheers all.

Are your wheels 4 or 5 stud? My 7th gen wheels are 5 stud and so pretty much any Honda 5 stud will fit... I've currently got 2005 Civic Sport wheels on, but yesterday I bought a set of 2013 Civic wheels. Issues you'll also need to consider are centre bore, wheel diameter and offset, and how these issues may impact upon how your vehicle has been (or will be) modified (suspension, wheel arches, larger brake calipers, spacer etc).

The wheel nuts, whether locking or not, will need to suit the wheels you end up up with... Stock Honda wheels need domed nuts, so wheel nuts designed to be used for stock wheels would then obviously be incompatible with aftermarket wheels that had flat or tapered seats. But if you stick with Honda wheels you'll be OK.

Hey mate some good info there thanx.
Ok so I've seen a few sets on eBay.
What's the main things that need to be exactly the same as mine? Obv 4x114.3 but what about et what ever that is (alien dude on a bike who didn't have a mobile) also what is the offset?
Will they need exact spigot rings?

ET is offset. That and wheel centre core, plus the possible need for spigot rings, is nicely explained here... http://www.rimstyle.com/pages/alloy_wheels_explained.html

Be careful, my last set of wheels were from another Honda model and has an offset that was too low... Looked good, but the wheels stuck out just a little too much and sprayed road dirt up the side of my car!

My cautious advice would be to buy a set of Honda alloy wheels originally fitted to a 6th Accord. Otherwise you will need to understand and compare all the wheel parameters.

I'd want to know if they came off a Civic or an Accord (just because they look similar it doesn't mean they're the same!). Or at least ask the seller for the ET figure, which is normally on the back of a wheel spoke, and compare that with your own... If you stick to within, say, 5 then you won't notice. But why not consider 16" wheels, ***uming you have plenty of clearance?

If i was buying a secondhand set of wheels I would at least buy a set that came with 4 decent tyres!

Hey Jon. I'm on a ****e budget.
Hey said they came off a 52 or 54 plate accord and it's only up the road from me.

If it's a 54 plate, it'll be 7th gen (5 stud wheels - won't fit your 6th gen). If it's a 52 plate, it should be 6th gen, which will be fine.

52 plate good, 54 plate bad. But yeah, 4 wheel studs would suggest a 52.

Looks like you'll need to buy at least one new tyre for that set, so not such a bargain really! I'd honestly expect to find a set of old, fairly common alloys, with four legal tyres, for less than £100.

I bought a set yesterday from an eBay seller. He wasn't far away so I arranged a visit to have a look... while there we agreed a cash deal that was outside the eBay/PayPal system so saved him two lots of commission, so we agreed on a figure 25% below his asking price. Why not try that... Especially as he is inviting offers?

I'm not sure they will fit the Accord, considering the seller says they fit Civic which is 4x100. The seller saying 11.5cm pcd is incorrect.

Search gumtree.com, I've just seen there's a set of Honda speedlines going for £250

Apparently they came off a 52 Accord, so should fit.

Just type 4x114 wheels into eBay.

You can't be sure that the centring rings will allow these wheels to fit your Honda.

I do not know if that combination of lower offset and wider wheel will fit or not without rubbing the arches, but the outside edge of the wheels will be sticking out a fair bit more than your current set.

Why not buy a set of wheels that comes with useable tyres?

Hey Jon I'm going through all my post to reply and just wanted to say thanks for the helpful info another star of the club.
