Hi all.

I am constantly thinking about selling my 7th gen tourer, and getting an 8th gen. Have seen a Type S for sale recently, but what defines it as "type s", above other specs?

I've just bought an Type S Tourer (diesel) recently, the main difference is that it has 180bhp as opposed to 150bhp.
 
It does sound nice!

I know it has an uprated clutch that can be retrofitted to lesser iDTEC models but, sadly, not to the i-CTDi.
 
Cheers guys. I like the idea of 180hp, as I tow my trackday car with it. Just have to keep looking as it is a rare animal indeed.
 
^^ i realy dubt that any of normal cars can tow lets say one ton or more incuding the trailer
 
I have just shy of a ton, 375kg trailer, 530kg car.

The 7th gen has no problems towing this, (especially as Fahad has breathed his magic on it!), just fancy the newer model.
 
Type S has stiffer suspension, larger brakes, performance clutch, higher output engine, bodykit, red dials, xenon lights.. and that's just off the top of my head. It also has that exclusivity factor that the normal idtec doesn't.
