Found this and thought it might be helpful to someone. My brakes started squealing today so I need to wait till the motor factors are open on Tuesday to get some new ones.

But here it is anyway.

I see that as a very bad video. If I'm replacing pads then I always take the full caliper bracket off, clean and re-grease it along with the sliders which have a tendency to seize up.

Also the part where he seems to use the new pad with a G clamp to push the piston back is just wrong !!!!

I manage to grease the necessary parts of the caliper bracket (and elsewhere) without removing it, using a small syringe filled with a ceramic grease (Silver Hook).

Is it because he uses a new pad? I would suggest using one of the old ones.

Yep it's bizarre that at 3:25 he illustrates using the new pad to push it back yet earlier at 1:45 he suggests using the old pad or the spanner. Indeed I wouldn't recommend using the old pad either because if the piston won't go back and you need to use the car very soon, you can always put the old pads back until you've decided what to do.

Also, although it's been about 6 months since I last checked the pads on the front of my Accord, I think that the stock calipers are different than in that video. I suspect that that Accord is a US Accord, and US Accord is substantially different from EU Accord. In particular, IIRC there are lock-nuts on those sliders set-screws, and if you try to unscrew the slider set-screw without loosening the lock-nut, you stand a good chance of rounding off the head !!
