After two years of no incidents, recently the local fox chewed through the wire in the roof of our duck run, and slaughtered the lot.

We had 7 eggs sat in the kitchen, so decided to have a go and incubate them.

As it's obviously worked, I'll be re-roofing the run tomoŕrow to make it like fort knox.

Did you have to do anything to them (rotate for example ?)

Our neighbour had two attacks on his chickens a few years back, eventually rewiring the whole garden to a depth of 18 inches to stop them from digging under.

We have an issue with foxes as well since there is a veritable smorgasbord near/in the pond at this time of year.

The incubator has a gadget that rotates the eggs every 45 minutes. They have 18 days of that, then should appear something like 10-14 days later.

I built their run (6'x6'x18') with all the wire dug in and rolled outwards so nothing could get in.

I ran out of wire though, so did the roof with the stuff that you can buy from the likes of B&Q.

Obviously was too thin of a gauge wire.

Got some cats that are like this with birds, I've added the tale into an old thread rather than spoil this one http://typeaccord.co...ormal/?p=242372
