Hey guys.
My wife has a 6th Gen 2.0i VTEC Auto. We love it, as do the kids. Problem is it's quite sluggish but we want to keep it for another year. It also has an oil leak to the side. Seems to be coming from the top.

Is it worth changing the engine and gearbox? I saw an F20B engine on eBay for arond £700 and thought that was quite crazy.

Any thoughts?

Have you changed the ignition leads, dizzy cap, rotor arm, air filter, etc?

They do need working a little bit if you're used to a bigger engine

They are not rocketships to start with, engine needs revving to get all the power so an automatic is going to slow things down a bit on the daily run and they with a full load it will be carrying more weight.

Engine & gearbox is not a straightforward thing, alot of extra modification will be needed and will cost a lot of money and hassle, you would be better off just buying another car to be honest.

Oil leak if top, then probably just the rocker gasket needs changing, cheap fix, otherwise could be crank and cam seals, which I had to change on mine.
