Lovely bike.

Do you pretend you're Joey when you ride it?

I bought it a few years back as a runner, but it came with some damaged/missing panelling and a knackered rear shock absorber and mount. The electrics in the fairing were also iffy, as were the fully adjustable bars.

No parts available in the UK for months, or at premium prices, but I was lucky to win a couple of auctions of parts from the US and the sellers were good enough to ship in daisy chain, so I got all I needed in one package with a very small duty to pay.

A friend at the motorcycle club sold me a top spec Fournales rear shock (no spring, air only ) which works and loses about 2 kgs off the bike mass, but fouls a frame bracket and so I've been filing away edges this week to suit. It also requires something like 150psi to whack into it.

The bike itself (apart from the engine, which shifts effortlessly) is over-rated and I have not used it for much more than  three thousand miles in the time I've had it. The original exhaust is safely stored away, with a Laser Performance 4/1 from a 750 that fits straight on.

It's heavy though, especially on the arms and wrists as it is all lean forward.

I've had loads of different bikes and ridden most stuff from when I was in the industry, and they all have their merits.

I do like an oldkskool muscle bike though, which is why I have one of these waiting to be reborn in my garage:

Nice solid inline four

I also have one of these, but it is a bit of a basket case thanks to the previous owner using a nitrous kit and now requires some serious crankshaft/barrel work.

1983-Honda-CB1100F.jpg?itok=39DgZlS1

I stupidly sold the conrods a few years back to somebody that bit my hand off before realising they are unique to this model, thinking another complete engine in reasonable nick would appear at some point....................................

I do have a new set of cases for her though and the remainder is somewhat complete, with additional Yoshi exhaust/cams etc (and I have kept the NOX stuff for a rainy/apocalypse/Mad Max day). One of those haitus projects awaiting US parts appearing online at some point.

But I digress, it's not an 'R'

Haven't touched it in 7 years, since just before my daughter was born. Always been something more important since then.

Got an m62 eaton supercharger sat under the bench for it too.
