Hi all,

Just picked up a 2004 EX saloon. Really happy with it, but got an issue with the clock.

It has the inbuilt navigation unit however I do not have a valid disc(the one in the drive is a copy) or the dvd reader isn't working.

I am not worried about fixing this as I use my phone for navigation, but the clock is completely wrong. Reading through the manuals this should pick up from the GPS, or you can adjust it from the menu. Without a working disc though I can't get into any menus and presume that the lack of disc means it won't update automatically.

I've had a search through the forums to no avail - can anyone advise how to change the clock in this situation?

As an aside, does anyone know if taking out the dvd drive will cause any issues. Seeing as I'm not using it I was hoping to free up some space for an aux link etc.

Thanks,

James

You do need the Disc for the clock. Not certain of the setup on the drive so can't answer that.

Mine's the same.

Battery disconnect at midnight sorts it out though.

Thanks for the replies. I'll try cleaning up the dvd lens and see if it picks up my dodgy disc - if not I may have to have a late night!

I took out the dvd reader on my lunch break to see what would happen... I lost a bolt to the unknown and taking it out means that the screen doesn't work at all! Guess I'll need to keep it there considering you need the screen to see the AC and radio controls!

or just disconnect the -ve terminal of the battery at 23:59 (on a phone) and reconnect at 00:00 (on a phone)

[see #3 for the brief description]

Thanks Brian, that's what I meant by the late night. Could always do it at midday and select 12hr clock....
