Hi, as a newbie to this forum and my first post - albeit using this as the fountain of knowledge for me and my accord I have hit a stumbling block.
When I take the bite and begin to move off in 1st gear, also on changing to 2nd gear there is a knock coming through the steering column. I can hear and feel it.
I've had drop links, arb bushes and trailing arm bushes done over last 18 months. Also of late a new intermediate and drivers side driveshaft (there was a small amount of play in the joint between the two)
Has anyone encountered this before? Or can shine any light as trying to scour the internet for similar issues is proving really difficult.
Lots of civic related slip of the sub frame, steering rack bolts adjusting and strut mount bearings (non on the accord) I'm struggling to find an answer.
My trusty mechanic has been over all steering and suspension with a fine tooth comb and a huge bar to try and find the smallest movement somewhere and with no luck - certainly nothing obvious.
It's very frustrating as I am very particular with my cars.
With hope and thanks in advance.

My guess is lower control arm compliance bushes. Could also be lower ball joint. Next would be upper control arm bushes or ball joint.

Have you checked engine and gearbox mounts ?
Also with the car stationary have you tried rocking the steering wheel left to right - any knocking / noise felt there? I had a knock felt through the wheel (and pedals) like you but it didn't happen when pulling away or going in to second. One new steering rack later and noise gone.

Pull the CV out of the hub and check for corrosion between the hub bearing and CV, there's a tech bulletin from Honda regarding this issue, grease lightly and replace.
The corrosion allows a small movement between the hub and bearing leading to a knock.

Thank you, I have had the compliance bushes changed about 18 months ago, and some others as well around the front suspension inc DLs and arb bushes.
The steering wheel doesn't knock when moving it side to side, and it doesn't knock during driving only when changing from 1st to 2nd gear. It's a bizarre one - however the cv joint one sounds very interesting I'll be on that one straight away.
Fingers crossed as always.
