Hello,

I am looking for advice on a clutch and flywheel replacement for Honda accord 2008 8th gen.

coxmotorparts currently have a honda accord 7th Gen Clutch and and flywheel in stock. Would this also fit the 8th gen model?

Also does anyone know where i can get the best deal for an OEM clutch and flywheel replacement?

All help is appreciated. Thanks

Flywheels are not interchangeable between generations (starter ring gear is different).

Clutch and flywheel is made by LUK, so find the cheapest LUK stockist. I'm not a fan of ECP, but if they have a sale on then can be competitive.

Do you really need the flywheel replacing?

It's possible to upgrade the clutch by fitting parts from the 180 S model.

Thanks Jon_G, I'm not sure if the flywheel actually needs replacing unless its taken apart to take a look. I've been told to replace the flywheel whilst getting the clutch replaced. I'm not sure if that the correct way but the clutch on this car hasn't been replaced at all and the mileage is on 105,000

The issue im experiencing is the rev needle jumps when i have my foot pressed all the way in, it usually happens in 3rd or a higher gear but i dont feel the speed increasing that much. Looking at some online forums the clutch is the problem or possibly the flywheel???

Those are the exact symptoms of a slipping clutch. A worn DMF causes shaking/vibration.

A knowledgeable mechanic would be able to ***ess the DMF free play. I do not know the service limits for yours.
