Hi Guys

My drivers side seat belt has become frayed on the edge so probably won't get past the MOT. I have managed to secure a used one of these which is in excellent condition and a fraction of the price of £300 or so that Honda want.

Befor I start taking the old one out, has anyone done this before and if so are there any issues with say the sensor/ airbag system if I dissconect that I should be aware of or is it just a straight forward unbolt and replace/connect up job.

Minor fraying is allowed, cuts and excessive fraying are not.

Disconnect the battery, leave for 5 mins to be safe (unsure on Hondas time, most are 90 secs). The plug can be disconnected after that, middle section pops up, then plug just pulls out.

In practice, I unplug airbags and belts all the time with battery connected. I always make sure ignition is off. Never had an issue.
Only with a RCM, but that's another story.

I haven't done the Accord, did a civic and it was just held in by 4 bolts.
I believe it would be the same. Simple bolt off bolt on.
