Hi,

just a quick log of my fog light replacement that might help the next person to try it.

Basically, my fog lights (the round diesel style ones) rusted so much the trims literally fell off. I lost one and ran over the other!

So began the search around eBay for 'Honda Accord Breaking' to try to find replacements, though each time they seemed to be just as chronically rusted. The trim mounting arms disintegrate.
Luckily I found a pair (in Lithuania) and they looked great.

I followed this fantastic video to help understand how to get the bumper off, kudos to the author.

Getting the 4 bolts off was a nightmare. I ended up grinding the heads off.
Once the clips and bolts were off, the bumper came off no problem, I just followed the video.

I tested my new lights first :)

With the bumper off and access to the back of the fog lights was easy I just needed to pop off the cable clip.

Re-fitment as expected in reverse order.

Overall an easy job, it was just the not knowing exactly what you will find that put me off.
I'll post some pics once I work out how.

Thanks to this post for showing me how to post pics ;) http://typeaccord.co.uk/forum/topic/14618-how-to-insert-pictures-to-threads/

Great work, but I'm afraid that you've fallen foul of the recent Photobucket 'P500' sharing restriction. Any chance you could upload your photos to, say, Imgur and edit your posts?

Yep photobucket have pulled the plug on embedding of photos.

This forum only allows a few hours to re-edit, if you run out of time when you've found an alternative, send the pics to stevearcade by PM

Simon's pics are here:

Thanks for adding them. Hosted them on imgur rather than photobucket...wasted my registration on them.

Both my fronts foglight surround bracket arms have rotted through and the original surrounds lost. I've previously bought a pair of surrounds and bodged them into place, fitting replacement metal strips as best as I could without removing the bumper, but one of them has now fallen off and so I've lost a third surround!

I've just bought a bargain replacement pair of foglight/surround ***emblies, but these are not worth fitting without replacing the heavily rusted arms that hold the plastic surround in place (particularly where the screw engages that secures the surround)... I'm going to fashion some strips of aluminium to replace as much of the original arms as possible, remove the bumper to fit these refurbished ones.

It looks simple and I'll add some construction details once I've done this. I'm guessing that this is becoming a common problem on pre-facelift diesel models? Maybe facelift ones as well?
