Hi guys
Hope you are well :)

I decided to open a thread in which i will post all the modifications i made on my car.
It's an Accord 2.2 i-CTDi 2006 Executive made for a German market.
I hope you will find it useful.

So this is the car as i buy it about 2 years ago

The car had 200.000 Km on the clock.
The car included the clutch already replaced, Eibach lowering springs -3cm, the tow hitch which i hated from the first day and the reverse camera with veeeeeeery bad resolution.

Then it starts the story about the dream car [emoji2]

One of the first mods was LED license plate light, LED postition light, LED interior lights and new reverse camera.
From the interior lights i don't ha e any pics but if you want i can take few and post.

While doing this work i wanted to put also Xenon long beam and fog lights.

And here are the results

Xenon headlights are OEM so i do not have any kind of problems with MOT or Police about the hign beam Xenon or any other mod about the lights.

After that was time to make the car breath a bit better. The forum was very useful about common faults on this car and made the work vay easyer.

While driving i noticed a bit of black smoke when pushed the pedal to the metal so that was easy to discover what is to do.

Here on the forum you can find many pics about the cloged intake manifold and it does not look nice. It's a very dirty job and it's not easy to clean it like it might look. It taked 2 days for me.
And then i started to put the things together and again with the help of this forum [emoji106]

If you decide to do this work DO NOT USE OLD GASKETS!

accf2c119d764e66e6887fb8b15c10d4.jpg

I also bought a new downpipe/Precat delete and a new air filter from Pipercross.

I did not expected any power gains but just lowering the costs of maintence.
On here somewhere i found some dyno tests with OEM air filter vs Pipercross air filter.

No problem, buddy. Moved this to 7th Gen Modifying :)

There was also need to remap the ECU because of the EGR delete but i did not intercase the power. Only EGR off because i did not trust the tuner which made the job.
On the phone it was ok but when i meet him...It was not so ok :)

One day with a friend we had a little race and i burned the brakes so here is the chanse to upgrade the actual setup [emoji6]

In that moment i just realised that i can't leave the calipers rusted behind the wheel.
And here it goes [emoji2]

If anyone is planning to do this mod on the car be careful on the calipers connection of the line.
There you need to clean the paint to avoid any leaks and test the for any leaks BEFORE driving.

I can reccomend this HEL brake lines because the are realy well made and they are not to expencive.

About that i already opened a thread "Breakes upgrade" i which i described the problems i meet on the way with this setup.
However i do not reccomend this disc/pad combo for this car, at least it did not work in my case.
After trying to discover hot water and few weeks of bleeding and two Honda services i changed again the pads with ATE with some good results.

This is great, car must be feel/look very nice after all this.

As many of you know this is a common fault on the i-CTDi engine... Swirl control valve/ solenoid valve

The strater motor was a bit tired so i changed it

Fantastic work there Jan.
Any more pics of the car, loving the height drop on the eibach springs. Should have been the height from factory in my opinion.

Will be lowering mine soon on eibach springs.

Is the pipercross air filter a direct drop in replacement?
Do you have a part number for it?

Yes the height from factory and the suspension setup it's not like it should be.
Yes the air filter is a drop in.
You can easily find it on their website

Then... The feeling on the shifting knoob from factory setup is s**t in its most pure form if you ask me so there was a must on improving that.

Short shifer bought on an user on this forum. I belive that they are still for sale.
It's an replica of CT Engineering.

And of course the heavy weight shift knoob from Skunk2 Racing 550g

Once you try this combo you will never go back to the OEM setup for sure

While servicing the car i checked the whole suspension system as in routine and found that both front Eibach springs were broked [emoji46]

5d9c57a4567961fc83aa1375ca35aa4a.jpg

As you can see the Eibach springs come with some rubber tube on it which should have the job of preventing any sound while the coils are touching each other.
But...between the rubber and the spring is also stopping an amount of water and this is the result after years of usage.Rust and snap
That theory was confirmed by Amortizer D.O.O. the dealer in my country for Eibach.

That was the moment to change the suspension setup and i decided to go with H&R -5cm springs and H&R anti roll bars [emoji6]

9c65e4bb74b8b9198609a5e65535c352.jpg

I tooked the suspensions at Amortizer D.O.O. ( suspension specialist in my country ) which rebuilded the suspension with some modifications ( 10% harder compression and 25% harder rebound ) .
He also coloured them, changed the anti dust boots, strut mounts rubber etc...

I forgot to take a pic to compare the rear one...

When i was waiting for the suspension for 2 days i was working on the bit of rust found under the car, cleaned and protected with APP B100 bitumen mass

I made few km with the car with this setup and for now the only thing i can say is... sick handling [emoji2]

This project taked me a lot of money and even more time.
On here you can see few pics of 300+ i made while the work and all i can say is that was worth the costs of time and money.

For any kind of informations or other pics just ask for it [emoji6]

I will take you updated for further mods

WOW!!! That looks like new! Bet it feels great to drive too!

The feeling is great for now...
I will know more just need to drive a bit more.
The damping with this springs and 25% harder rebound is waaay better than OEM suspension with Eibach springs

Looks like you have been busy nice work looks really good

Great progress Jan! Car has had lots of work done, good job :)

Would be keen to get one of those short shifters, any details on where you got it?

Where did you order the fiberglass rear lip and how is the fitment?

I've seen a few on eBay but a bit weary of the quality
