I'm interested in adding a graphic equalizer to my system but don't know if I can do it or not.

I can't connect an equalizer directly to my amplifier, because my amplifier doesn't have a processor or tape monitor connector at the back.

Can I connect a CD line out to an EQ line in and the EQ line out to the amp CD line in ? Or does an EQ only work on a complete 4 wire loop ?

Cheers.

I have an equalizer connected between the headunit and the amp trough RCA cables witouth any problems

Thanks for this.

I've since found the answer on a hifi forum - it's possible both ways - but depends on the equipment.

I had no idea equalisers and old school hifi kit generally is still so popular though - I thought I'd get an equaliser for next to nothing but even 30+ year old ones are quite expensive.

Note also that the power-amp in the Exec has active filtering because it has separate outputs to each speaker
