I'm looking to get a set of winter tyres for my 8th gen tourer. I'd like to use a set of 16" alloys that I used on my 7th generation which the manual says should fit. These have the bog standard rubber valves whereas the wheels on the 8th gen have the TPMS valves.

I don't really want to go to the expense of getting a new set of TPMS valves for the winter wheels. Anyone know if it's an issue fitting wheels without the fancy valves on the 8th gen or will it make the car throw a wobbly?

I am fairly sure they are removable and should be able to be retrofitted to the new alloys.
Now, this is an educated guess as there are aftermarket versions of these systems that can be universally fitted and also the units on your original wheels are surely replaceable in case of failure.

Yes, but the problem is I don't want to have to buy a new set of valves as they are rather expensive.
