Custom Exhaust experiences 2.4 Tourer

hi Guys,

just heard from my friendly mechanic that my exhaust is going to need replacing before the MOT in January, not too bothered as knew it was on its way out and like an excuse for a modification!

What are these cars like with exhaust notes?

I want something that is fairly quiet as have a new born baby and also do a lot of motorway miles for work, however also happy to release a bit more noise when up the rev range.

Am currently shopping around for quotes but any experiences people have would be great.

I've got stainless 2.5" on my tourer. Custom made as there aren't off the shelf parts available for the estate. It's low in note and absolutely sings in the high rev range. It's not so bad on cruising.

I've got one ****ler on the pipe before the Y split and two backboxes. Maybe if you have a good mechanic who understands your needs, he can fit the right kind of ****ler on the mid pipe or possible, even mirror the stock with two ****lers before the Y split.

Currently looking at Demand Engineering in Suffolk, Longlife Peterborough and Cobra Sport in Sheffield.

Think I am going to ask them to copy whats there but in stainless as that will probably be slightly louder but fairly quiet.

I just went OEM to avoid fitting and quality hassles - got a great price from Holdcroft Honda for a catback replacement system plus the fittings and bought a second hand Acura TSX flexi downpipe from the USA on eBay.

Yeah, copy what's there but stainless with some slightly more breathable ****lers and it should be nice.
