I have developed a noise, well my car has, I was sitting on tickover with heating in and suddenly started to hear a very fast ticking/clicking sound, like a relay switching very fast. I switched off and back on and the noise was still present. Switched off again and back to the on position but didn't start the engine and it's still there. So something electrical? Half an hour later I drive home. The noise had stopped when I first started the car but by the time I got home the noise was back. I cannot figure out where this is coming from. Have been under the bonnet and sounds near the ABS module box and am sure I can feel the vibration on the nearside wing. Car seems to run and drive as normal. What could it be?

I get the same noise without the engine running. Just ignition on.

SOLVED! The problem seems to be the nearside headlight level motor. My next question, how do I remove it?

I removed my headlights to polish the haze out of them. It's not as straightforward as you'd think - I had to remove the bumper!

You might be able to get the motor out without removing the headlight, but it's a right clart disconnecting it from the internal adjusting mechanism and best done with full all-round access.

Hope this helps,
Chris
