Today I changed my battery to a Yuasa YBX5075 but I am unable to get this plastic shroud back on, I am not sure what it is actually for so if someone could explain on what it is that would be appreciated.


 
Is this the shroud that goes on the negative terminal?

It is the top air intake cover, I have just cut an inch of plastic off around the shroud and it fits nice and snug now, I will upload a picture shortly.

It looks like the attachment that faces the outside to allow fresh air into the intake and stopping anything from the engine going down.

I see, do you know if I need to remove the little red cap on that last picture?
 
That a breather for the battery.
Normally they will come with a tube to put in and sits in the battery box.
I would read up on the battery spec fitted to see if it’s advisable to do this as battery’s do release explosive vapours when in use.
I’m sure the Honda OEM ones don’t have this
