Sorry but really unsure of the value of my current saloon

2008 57 plate with 136k on the clock.
Mot August and extensive if not quite full service history.

Usual spec but also has the hft

Pearl white, lowered 50mm all round on tein springs, black 19 rage alloys, lip spoiler and tsx rear foglight delete

Thanks in advance, wanting to stay in the accord fold but tourer

Just wuickly looked on Auto Trader similar mileage and age cars are between £1500-£2800

Such a vast difference, what are they selling for privately as i presume being autotrader most of them are from traders or dealers

This can be true. When I searched it was traders and private though.

I've been looking at Accords for sale since the end of November everywhere (Auto Trader, eBay, Gumtree and Facebook)

I'm very picky and want the right one after what happened to my first Accord.

Bought an 07 Ex 2.2 i-ctdi sport on around 85,000 miles with a book full of stamps from a dealer in the summer of 2016 and a recent 'service' was but had quite a few problems with it.

After only a month of ownership two injectors had to be replaced. Wasn't covered on their warranty but they agreed to pay part of it. Took it to one of their approved garages to do the work and apparently when they checked the fuel filter it looked like it hadn't been changed for years.. That got replaced but with a Crosland filter which caused more starting problems later down the line.

Next thing I noticed the steering was getting heavy and I was losing power steering fluid. Turned out to be a worn seals in the steering rack. Also rear caliper issues and throttle sensor failing...

Finally in November just gone one of the cylinders had failed and the car now sounds like a road drill. I think the car must have had a oil leak somewhere.

Yet here I am wanting another one. When it was working it was a lovely car to drive, looked great and was very comfortable so still would like to stay in the Honda fold as still have some cool parts I didn't get the chance to put on the car. (I have been looking at PD130 Audi A4s and VW Passats recents though  )

I just wish I found this forum sooner and read up more about the common faults and what to look for.

At least I know them now. ****** Diesels

This is the main reason i wouldnt have a diesel, especially an older vehicle, good old strong Vtec power is sufficient for me! Mine has done 112k and drives better then a lot of the newer cars i have had, but early days and plenty of time for problems!

If i didn't have travel over 100 miles a day I would get the VTEC! Still a few of those problems can happen on the petrol Accords too.

Yeah she is quite thirsty for what she is! Its duel mass flywheels and turbos that put me off but then i paid less then 700 for mine so if i can get a year out of her il be happy!
