2.4 Type S Drive Shafts Replacement

Hi all.

My car has a strange vibration between 60 and 70mph. Actually it feels more like a shimmying sensation felt through the entire car (not like wheel balancing)

If I dip the clutch, the shimmying stops abruptly until the clutch is released.

I've had the engine mounts checked today and all is OK. My mechanic says he's 80% certain it's the N/S Drive Shaft.

I've had a quote from Holdcroft Honda for £503/side including VAT which it pretty eye watering considering I have labour in top.


I've checked eBay and found a compatible drive shaft for £80 delivered.

I wondered what experiences you have had if any with after market drive shafts?

I've attached a picture of the item on eBay for reference.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Insane shafts mate. Get them at H-Tune. They're about £400 a pair. They're uprated for modified K24s, but frankly, they're stronger and cheaper than OEM shafts and the blueprints in my experience weren't much cop. I wore out a blueprint after about 18 months after my original shaft snapped due to corrosion. Replaced with Insane Shafts the ride was so drastically improved. Note, I'm running very modest power mods, but am lowered, thus putting extra stress on the shafts.

Thanks for the info. I'll check them out but be warned, I'll probably be back on here with a ton of questions lol
