Afternoon all.

Picked up 2007 Accord tourer ex last month. Overall im happy with with but it just wouldnt be right if there weren't bits to do!

Most annoying at the moment is the door speakers flicker and cut out when the gearstick is in 2nd,4th or 6th position. The tweeters seem to continue unaffected. Seems a bit odd. Anyone come across this before?

Thanks.

Is your car equipped with "Premium Sound System"?

Exactly.
The amp is located in front of the shifter box and the transmission cables are running under the amp so i would check the conecctions on the amp.

+1 check wiring sounds like intermittent connection

Just as an update to this all connections on the amp seemed secure. Annoying as I broke a clip on the centre console to get it! I couldnt see anything that would connect the position of the gear lever with an audio related cable.

I did notice a black wire that was open ended that wasnt attached to anything down below the heated seat switches. An earth? Im not knowledgeable with electrics

Will have to see if the phenomenon comes back again. I cant bear intermittent problems!

I need mt premium audio to drown out the sound of my rear ARB/ bushes!:p

On mines the transmission cables are running under the amp and that's the reason why i recommended you to check it. This could be tricky to solve then

I MAY have made some progress with this. It only occurs when things have got really warmed up. Like an hour plus journey.

I got access to the amp again after a journey where it had started to cut out. I was able to replicate the problem by moving the gear stick around in the lower gate positions. I could also make it cut out by rocking the amp backwards a bit.

The connectors down the side were secure. I could JUST see a blue connector underneath the amp. I couldnt see it was loose but it did FEEL like I was able to push it in a bit further. I have no idea what it is.

Anyway, I couldnt make it crackle again once I'd done this. So i'll see how it goes.

If it comes back I know where to look. Thanks for your help Jan accord!
