I tried bridging terminals 4 and 9 on my Type V's OBD socket to get the codes for an SRS light. This didn't work, and when I looked closer at the socket I found that terminal 9 isn't connected to anything. There appear to be only 4 terminals, not the 7 I see on all the descriptions from US forums.

I have a cheap OBDII code reader, but that just reads basic codes.

Can anyone help with the following:
1. Can I get SRS codes DIY on my Type V, and, if so, how do I do it?
2. Is there a system diagram or description that I can use to find and check all the wiring and connectors?

I have previously cleared the light using the MES procedure, so don't need info on that, and have found a series of descriptions of how to read and decode flashing lights.

Symptoms:
@ The SRS light came on 6 months ago without apparent cause, with just me in the car. It was on for 3 journeys and went out before I could investigate.
@ The light came on again a week ago when I did a juddery start with a passenger in the front passenger seat. I cleared the light and all worked well.
@ Today the light came on again when I was driving down a smooth road with a passenger in the front passenger seat.
@ The battery voltage is OK and I can't see anything relevant with what I've done or had in the car.

Thanks in advance for any help.

This is a quick update.

I’ve not been able to find any wiring diagrams so I started work on identifying the wires and testing the various parameters. I got 3/4 of the way through the system and hope to complete my investigations tomorrow.

So far I've found nothing outside the expected parameters.

The SRS Unit.
The SRS unit in my car is 77960-S1A-G94-M1 and has 2 connectors. It is also used on Civics.
The US maintenance manual states that M1 refers to the manufacturer, NEC.
However, all the wiring diagrams in the US Accord maintenance and wiring manuals show NEC SRS units without side airbags and all the SRS units with side airbags with 3 connectors.
All the data from the US manuals is widely different to what I have. It is

Connectors
There are 2 connectors: a 14 pin connector feeding the front components and an 18 pin connector feeding the seats and seat belt tensioners.
