Hi all, it's been a while since I have posted on this forum and I hope you are all doing well. I have been trying to find an affordable replacement starter motor for my Honda 2004 2.4 Auto but am struggling to be able to know which starter motor is a suitable fit for my car. I called Honda and they said that I need the Mitsuba Starter Motor but refused to give me a part number, the cost was around £345 which is too much. I have seen some online for £120ish but am not sure of they are suitable. Reg is RF54 LGJ.

As many of you may have the same/similar car and are knowledgeable with this stuff, would you possibly be able to provide me with a part number or place where I can buy the part within a reasonable price? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Looks like it should be fine, 12 warranty? what's to lose??
My car is parked outside my home and won't move, so I need a mobile mechanic to come. \if I order the wrong part I will be stuck with a mechanic and a wrong part so will be expensive. Want to try and avoid paying mechanic and then finding out I have the wrong part.

Sorry I thought you were a DIY PERSOn if not then get a mobile mechanic to remove it and get the numbers, I thought cost was your main worry?

Are you sure it's the starter motor?
I think so, because AA guy came when it broke down an wouldn't start with small clicking noise and he said was a starter motor.

I just called a mechanic and he was interested in buying the car. How much does a 2004 EX Auto Accord with about 90,000 miles go for nowadays? Took a look online and the prices seem to vary.

Please try this first:

Charge your battery or connect with a running car with jumper leads so the system measures 14 Volts or thereabouts.

Get another jumper lead and run it from your negative terminal to the body of your starter motor. Get a good electrical contact on both ends.

Try start the car (in neutral).

Also, try starting the car by bridging the positive lead to the starter directly to the terminal on the solenoid.

Can you get a lift with your b

Did the AA guy try to jump start the car and it wouldn't turn over, it just clicked?
