After about 18 months I finally got around to fitting a replacement compressor, albeit a second hand one.

Hooked it up and although I know it's not yet gassed I wanted to check that the clutch was working but couldn't get it to take.

Disconnected the feed and couldn't detect any voltage on it with the AC on Auto or Manual. Am I right in thinking there should be 12V here when the AC is on?

Checked all the fuses I could and all okay but can't check the relays.

I wondered whether it would disable the clutch actuation if there was no pressure?

I seem to remember somewhere on here there is a guide to bypass all the relays and just supply the clutch to check it.

Will do a search.

Read back through my old thread and realised the clutch will not kick in until there is enough pressure s hopefully this is the reason.

Will bypass the relay to check the clutch and then get it re-gassed and keep my fingers crossed.

If you know someone with a hds you can manually trigger the clutch under the engine functional tests

Done it previously by hooking up a positive feed to the correct relay connection but can't find the details anymore as the images have gone !!!
