Morning gents

Have discovered serious oil leaks front and rear on my accords rocker cover which is running onto both the intake manifold, exhaust manifold and it's coating the sump as well.

I replaced this after fitting new set of timing chains about 18 mths ago and cannot find a tightening sequence/torque setting for the six nuts and cups, even in the ESM.

I don't want to over tighten them and possibly damage gasket further , as I am not in the mood to rag the injectors out to fit a new one, any help appreciated.

cheers

T.J.

did you replace the rocker cover gasket when you did the chains or keep original, sometimes a bit of gasket sealer is applied near bends or creases in the head/cover. Search the forum as this has been a previous topic of discussion.

new cover gasket fitted, liquid gasket was applied to areas as per the ESM guide on re ***embly.
I have since looked again and the domed nuts can only be tightened till they stop.
I shall monitor to find out exactly where the leaks occur, better when engine hotter I suspect.

Update on this

The rocker gasket is not leaking, I discovered the small black pipe linking the pressure relief valve / fuel tank return connection on the high pressure rail, had longish splits on both connections.

The diesel had leaked from here and run right down all over the sump, and was dripping off the sump drain nut !!!
Cut both splits off now stopped, well chuffed.

However, as is always the case do one job, find another ten, found my power steering rack is leaking.
Trying the bottle of leak fix first, then if no good it's either the top hose, or rack itself.

Happy daze
