I've owned my 2005 Tourer for about two years and while I haven't covered a massive mileage I want to replace the fuel filter. However, while I've looked on www.lingshondaparts for a diagram without luck I can't find its location in the engine bay. Where is it situated? Also, having replaced the fuel filter on my previous car, a Civic Aerodeck, I know that care is needed when loosening any connections - I'm ***uming the same care is needed as the fuel is under pressure. Any information / tips are welcome.

In addition, I've got several score marks on the driver side of the windscreen where the wiper blade movement has scratched the surface of the glass. I've recently renewed the driver side wiper blade with a Bosch item, and if anything it's worse. I've been told that Meguiars compound is the stuff to use - does anyone have any experience of this compound and is it any good? Again, any tips etc are most welcome.

Thank you.

Are we talking diesel? It’s behind the air box against the engine bulkhead. You’ll see a black metal bracket housing the priming bulb. Filter is behind that. Tricky job due to access. Remember to fill and bleed a couple of times before starting up the engine and ensure you don’t get an airlock.

If we are talking petrol that’s located in the fuel tank and is part of the intank pump and sender ***embly.

If it's a diesel on a PFL it's a pig of a job to do... and make sure you get a proper Bosch one and not some cheap after market part... A new one isn't expensive and cheap ones will cause you more costly problems down the road.

Further to that ignore that awkward little set screw at the back of the holder, leave it loose or take it away all together, the filter will not move I promise you. Got to be Bosch filter.

Thank you for the replies - all very helpful. My Accord is a petrol engine, so the filter will be in the fuel tank. Not too sure that I want to go ferreting in there! According to the owner's manual the fuel filter should be replaced every 25,000 miles. I've covered about 12,000 miles since August 2016 and ***uming the previous owner did replace it, I may leave it until the new year, and then use my friendly local garage to do it for me.

Most petrol cars I've ever worked on, the fuel pump/filter was in the top of the tank, and could be accessed from under the rear seat... No idea if it's the same on the Accord but designs do tend to be similar across many manufacturers.
