Hi guys, not sure if anyone has experienced this issue as i have already run a quick search on the forum but no results came up.

over the last few weeks couple of drivers behind me brought my attention regarding my rear lights not turning on when i brake. this is only affecting my right rear light but last night i turned the lights on during dark and can see all four round bulbs light up so it seems one of them does not glow when brake pedal is pressed.

any ideas i might be wrong but i thought if it was a faulty fuse it wouldn't light up at all when i turn on my lights but it does only doesn't when i brake so it cant be fuse related but i could be wrong. any one else had this in the past and how did you fix it? Thanks

There are two filaments in the brake/light bulbs and they are completely independent of each other.

Sounds like the brake filament has gone so you just need a new bulb.

oh i see... i was under the impression it was the same filament in charge of these two duties i.e glowing when the brake pedal is pressed and staying on constantly when the lights are turned on. will get my bulbs changed then. Thanks Greyedout :)

Does the high level brake light come o ? If not it could be the actual brake pedal switch

Yes high level does come on its only the right rear light doesn't glow when pedal is pressed but both left and right comes on when main lights are turned on.

If they're same as the tourer (I imagine they are) they're probably the capless dual filament type shown on the right.
