Just a quick question - Does the accords ac system work when the temperatures get down to below 10 deg celcius ?

Quick summary of my issue

My aircon compressor kicks in, and turns back off after 30 seconds ish - And then repeats the cycle every few minutes.
There are no leaks in the system
Aircon has been drained and regassed

Using the climate control onboard sensors - I can see the aircon system gets to 10bar and then this is when the systems shuts back down. (Normal operating should be between approx 10 and 30 )

Ive been told by a couple of people this is normal during cold winter days - Yet I do not recall having any issue's with the ac system the past 3 winters

Is this normal ?

Im aware once the ambient temp gets down to 4 celcius, the R134a will start to freeze in the evaporator - But Im thinking I have a dodgy pressure sensor

This is one of the Accord's great little features, and also as far as im aware never found its way into the 8th gen Accord. Not sure why!

When the ambient temps go below 3 degrees (you also see the snow flake warning on the display too). The aircon compressor will kick in, however it wont blow cold air like an AC system normally would do it works in reverse and try and help blow hotter air more quickly. (providing your heater controls are on the hot setting)
Being a diesel, naturally they will take alot longer to get heat through the vents but this system helps get hot air within 3 or 5 minutes.
It also benefits the AC system as the pump/compressor gets used all year round and not just the summer time.

My mates 2014 diesel ford mondeo takes more then 15/20 mins to get heat through the vents. lol.

Amazing feature.

As far as I'm aware (mine appears to) when the coolant temperature is below the desired cabin temperature the air con does it's best to provide heat on the 8th gen too. Only seems to work if temp is set to 'max' though. From memory my 7th gen didn't need setting to max and worked all the time when it was cold outside, unless the air con & fan was set to totally 'off'
