Hi All, sorry to be a pain, but a bit of advice would be much appreciated.

Finally cleared nearly all advisories and one fail on my '54 plate Tourer 2.2CDTi.

Snapped o/s drop link - Fail - Replaced

Front pads worn - Advisory - Replaced

Very slight drag on both rear wheels - Advisory as not registered on rollers - stripped, lubed and reassembled

Rear coil springs corroded - Advisory

Apparently the ministry now requires slightly rusted coil springs to be noted. I need to get them off, rub them down and spray them.

I can't recall if they have a strut running through them or if they are "standalone". If they are "standalone", can anyone advise if they are easy to remove and how it's done ?

Many thanks in advance..............ebt

The bolt through the lower bush on your strut is going to be a bas#@rd to undo if you have not had your rear shocks off for a while. On my last tourer the bolts snapped even with heat.

Put new struts on my current one this week, again nightmare job even with heat.

If they are stuck you could undo from the top, inside the boot. Yes the springs are separate from the struts.

Thanks Paul, it's just the springs I want to take off to rub back and paint. Do I need to remove the strut bolts to remove the springs ?

Yes but you might be able to just do the top if the bottom is seized keep a jack under the shock and let it down slowly.
