happening every now and then and just developed lately and it's annoying me.

Thought it was ***** I had in the spare wheel well banging bout but no, what could the usual suspects be drop links and anti-roll bar bushes?

I did both drop links and bushes when mine started intermittently (but persistently) knocking at the back to eliminate the issue in one hit. I didn't want to have to get the tools out twice for the sake of the £15 (at the time) bushes. I used Meyle links (eBay) and genuine bushes.

Not an especially difficult job if you're handy. Saw the links in half, break off the joint and remove the stub with mole grips on the ball end and a spanner on the other. There used to be a DIY somewhere...
