Anyone got a quick tip to remove them without having the front to pieces mine are clogged up and no amount of pin pushing will restore them to their former glory, or is there some magic fluid that will do the job?

Is it hard water scale? Try some acidic toilet cleaner or Cillit Bang applied with a syringe. Acid usually reacts with calcium and fizzes away until the acid runs out of effectiveness or the limescale disappears.

Bit the bullet, removed the scuttle and swapped out the originals for a pair of universals, if any one like t try it not much of a hassle just loads of silly plastic plugs, and good tug off it comes, do not forget to remove the wiper arms. lol,
