Hi all, me agin im afriad!!!

Can someone please advise me how to adjust the screen washer jets? my passenger side works fine but the drivers side seems to be spraying too low, so there I was today prepared with my trusty pin, but unlike previous cars it doesnt have the standard ball to move around?

Thanks again.

I may be completely wrong here, but having gone out to have a look at mine, it looks as if you need a small screwdriver to loosen the jet slightly before adjusting the angle. I would proceed with caution! Don't try and force anything. Perhaps you should wait for advice from someone more knowledgable than me before tampering with it. Apart from the different Honda angle adjustment method, there's a good general video on clearing blocked washers here:

That would be my one of mine looks like a dog has chewed it then - some Nimrod has had a go at it in the past :(.

Hahaha I love how they try and keep safety paramount by saying park the car away from traffic and put the car in the P position or in 1st gear with the hand brake up and so on, but then you see the boy and hes not wearing safety boots??? I mean I'm not a complete idiot, and I know you dont need to but I think if they were really going to go all out with safety they should have had him wearing safety glasses and steeltoe work boots. What happens if the car rolled forwards?
Hahaha Sorry just me trying to be funny. :)

Yes it's over the top, I quite agree! (you'd think they could just make one separate safety video and just make a quick reference to that.)

Anyway, the joke is now on me - I decided to have a go at adusting my screenwasher jets (which were working fine, if a tad lower than I would have liked). Took a little screwdriver and tried to screw the plastic washer jet nozzle around & up. To my horror, the plastic is so soft, the tip of the screwdriver just chewed it up. Pushed it up, tried the washers - too high; pushed it down - too low; finally managed to restore it to an acceptable angle. I'm thinking I may have to get a replacement plastic jet unit from Honda though. Don't like it being not quite the way it should be.

Moral of the story - "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

Or more accuratly...
If it ain't broke, don't break it;)

Is anyone able to confirm whether you do adjust the screen jets by just gently adjustling it with a screwdriver please?

I don't want to end up chewing them up, or worse snapping them, have tried seeing if they move with my fingers, but they dont seem to shift?

Thanks

you have to be carefull with them as too much force can damage them, I did that previously and had to get new jets from Honda. They are only made of plastic including the nozzle

It's a pin job but be careful even so, I have broken pins in the hole, and then had to remove the jet from the car to extract the broken pin. You could try pushing or lifting the whole jet it's not held very tightly in it's parent part. They just clip into the hole provided and can be moved. If the plastic pipe proves stubborn try warming it with hot water then pull off.

Thanks for the replies,

I'll have another look, but last time i looked I couldn't work out where to put the pin (couldnt see the actual jet nozzle) which is what I was expecting to see if that makes sense?

Anyway, will try again. Thanks

I quite agree with Shabz. I too found out the hard way...tried adjusting mine many moons ago. Despite using a fine screw driver I ******ed mine up and had to get new ones fitted at local agent...to my suprise they too use fine screw drivers to adjust the stupid things as I was present when they did it cos I wanted to see how it should be done and make sure the screen washers spayed the solution onto the right area of windscreen!

At least with the old types that had a little brass ball that you twiddled with a pin, you knew where you were. Not one of Honda's better designs I must admit

Had to reserect this old topic to give correct advice, to adjust washer jets, use a small flat screwdriver to adjust angle up or down do not twist or turn screwdriver as this will damage jets and most likely mean a replacement needs to be fitted,
To replace passenger side remove 2 clips and flip up cover and replace, driver side remove weather seal lift up cover flip out and replace, re fit weather seal and test.
