Hi everyone
Wondering if someone could help with an issue I'm having with my 1999 Honda Accord Coupe 2.0esi
I've had the car for around 3 years now
and every so often the immobiliser light will not come on when the key is in the ignition
therefore the car will not start
the engine would turn over but it will not start
after leaving the key in the ignition for around 5-10, the immobiliser (green key light on dash) would light up
allowing me to start the car
this issue has become more frequent
I've tried using different keys, locking doors different ways, turning key slowly all difference types of combinations
I've also removed the covering around the steering wheel and used 1 key to turn the ignition and held the other in different places around the dash
to try and kick in the immobiliser
I've done some research and people are saying it could be the EFI main relay (Fuel)
On the AA website they have a recall for this issue
http://www.theaa.com/allaboutcars/recalls/recalls.jsp?&makeName=Honda&modelID=A6&modelName=Accord&makeId=B5&lowIndex=3
option 5
I called Honda. They said there is currently no recall on my car
My car had been previously recalled due to option 4 (mulitplex - dash board lights). This was back in 2009 and on the AA site it was launched in 2004
took them a whole 5 years to get in contact
anybody got any ideas?
I'm also getting a buzzing noise from the glovebox
could be unrelated
maybe a motor gone faulty?
thanks in advance
