Thoughts On Type S Price

Couple of things that put me off is the two owners and the price which is a tad too much for what I'd like to pay to swap - particularly as this model doesnt have ADAS/CMBS that I have on the EX now.

(As a side note, CJ probably knows the answer, can the Type S come with ADAS etc?)

ofcourse you can get the Type S with ADAS the new 2012 Accord will have Bi-HID with advance cornering lights (ACL) and higbeam support system (HSS)

LOL

I know that it does with the 2012 models, just wondered whether it was available on the earlier 8th Gen's at all as I've never seen any (unless I'm looking in the wrong place!)

I'm still itchingly tempted to switch to the new model, but its just the pricing that's putting me off. Maybe next year....

Seen a Type S.

2 owners, 35K, FHSH with balance of OEM warranty. No ADAS etc.

What price/value should this be?

The car is totally mint - just the two owner thing that is making me hesitant....

Year?

Saj, are you going to swap your EX in for a type-S or getting another accord?
In terns of spec the type-S doesn't seem to be as luxurious as the type-S :/

Found a super pretty type S, estate, White, 2011 leather interior Sat nav and 11,000 miles
Downside is that it is 25,000 pounds http://www2.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201136413608711/sort/priceasc/usedcars/maximum-age/up_to_3_years_old/model/accord/make/honda/postcode/n99ty/radius/60/keywords/type_s/page/1?logcode=p

Yeah looking to trade in - I can only drive one car at a time and dont have a need for two  (Hence why either looking at Type-S or eyeing the facelift 8th Gen...undecided yet.

Problem I've found with the Type-S's so far is that none have the ADAS and other toys like my EX. Thats one thing that puts me off. As for the link you posted (thanks BTW!), hate the colour and as a tourer it carries extra deadweight for extra space I dont really need. That said, £25k for that example is a very good price - a lot of car, a lot of reliable, solid car for that money.

No probs Saj, I find that the Tourer does look slightly prettier and I do love the white colour, if only I had enough money :(

Yes the white colour is fantastic but to keep clean and maintain, what with the poor roads and tar that will invariably cover the lower sills and around the rest of the car, its not worth the hassle - not in this country anyway.

Mine is Crystal Black Pearl, and I tell ya, I have no need for gym membership - cleaning this beast is all the workout I need! Next Accord, if it arrives, will be a nice boring silver or grey!

Yeah, that's a very valid point, maroon doesn't show up much grime :D you can only tell from the dirt on the windscreen whether or not it needs a wash
I think the nicest colour you can get on the current accord is the cobalt blue :) but you can't get that on the Type-S :(

Why does the two owner thing put you off? It could have been a Honda car to start with.

Thats just it - its not (a Honda-owned car) and after a test drive today, it was shockingly worn inside.

Don't know if you're still looking chap but Auto Trader advert on this one suggests it's got ADAS ( not convinced though!)

Thanks mate. Not after an estate, even though it looks very nice.

Had a look it on Autotrader where 9 images are available and its very clear it does not have ADAS. Not sure what the dealer is thinking with that since the windscreen has no visible camera nor is the Honda "H" badge in a black background - the badge on this car is embossed (ie it can come off where as the ADAS one cannot).
