AA called to EML-said above code
previously it has had front honda o2 sensor replaced(different code then) £240 or so then from memory
This is ***ume means cat is impaired
Drives fine -genuine cat is over £800 -cars only worth about £600 its done 110 k only drive locally now as have another car for longer journeys(xc90)
Any one have suggestions-the non genuine cats seem to be warrantied for only 1 or 2 years and are obviously not going to last??
I also thought although the rear o2 sensor has not brought up a separate code its probably on its way out as well??-lings honda list this as £200!-i know from forums non honda o2 sensors will not do!
The Engine on this car still sounds as if its done 50K!

About the O2 sensors, its safe to go for a NGK/NTK sensor, I bought one for mine in ebay and it cost me about 70/80£. So far, no problems to relate.

Thanks -seen one rear o2 sensor non bosch but not NGK-will search further rgds

Take the cat off and make sure it hasn't collapsed inside.

O2 sensors should always be replaced in pairs.

A second hand cat for a 6th gen should cost you no more than about £50. I've just bought one off a member on here.

There are usually quite a few people breaking ATRs and no one actually seems to want the cats off them so that might be worth a look if it is knackered.

Is the Type-R cat compatible with non Type-R models(6th gen)?

Normally p0420 will have a sub code like bank 1 which will help in diagnostic.
