Ignition switch is my best guess.......try rocking key if the problem worsens.....if that cures the the instrument problem....you can then be confident about replacing the ignition switch. You'll have to clear the ABS light before you decide there is actually a fault.

Hi John, I agree with Graham that twin clutch gearbox's have improved over the years. My first 60 reg VW Golf 1.4 DSG (direct shift gearbox) 7 speed used to shudder a little when taking off from standstill but a simple software update cured the problem :) I then replaced that car with another...

You should check the passenger seat occupancy sensor connector........most likely culprit.

the lack of smoke suggests that you're leaking oil ?.........if the crank seal behind the clutch is letting oil by when on the move you'd end up with the symptoms you describe (oil useage and clutch judder).

I too recommend you check and clean all the earthing points, also ensure your battery is healthy under load. If you've noticed the car starts after wriggling the ignition key you could well have a ****y ignition switch ? If you didn't pay Honda to diagnose your woes you shouldn't be too...

Don't go wasting your money on an oil change......sadly it's repair time or a replacement box.

If that's a hint of blue I'm seeing ?....I'm automatically suspecting the valve seals.
