I had mine welded ...initial improvement but then got worse over time (put it down to numerous heat cycles cracking the repair weld). Replaced it with a cheap eBay aftermarket as I was out of warranty ...it did improve, but I still felt it didn't provide 100% clean air to the cabin.

The window lock pushbutton & doors lock rocker switch were playing up - doors would only lock with the window pb up, but would only unlock when the pb was down (I think I've got that the right way around!) Anyhow, this did not always work. ***umed it may be a bad track on PCB inside the switch...

You're right, it has to be the correct type of switch, from an identical doner model.

Turns out no tailgate reset is required - just swapped with yet another unit & all is well. Perfect.

Did you manage to get this fixed? How? I'm in the same boat, with no boot open/close function via key fob. Everything else works, including central locking via key fob.

I suspect the infrared diodes are not on, so probably due to a fault on one of the boards posted below. Anyhow, I intend to get a 2nd hand head unit, but have concerns over compatibility. I'm sure I've read somewhere that the later 7th gen's replaced the infrared system with an actual touch...
