    Whine in low gears.. Help?

You will very often get a slight vibration through the car under power in the low gear if it is a gearbox bearing, I did. Can't really give an idea of cost as it was a long time ago and prices have certainly gone up since then. Brett is dead right though, don't think the worst untill you get it...

    Whine in low gears.. Help?

I had a whining noise once on a Honda Civic. You could hear it in first gear and a little in 2nd. The lower gears are of course where all the power is. I found out it was a bearing in the gearbox whining under load. Had the whole gearbox rebuilt with new bearings throughout. Problem solved. Hope...

    DMF and clutch removal?

I think he means with a faulty flywheel, not without it completely.

    Headlight tints ?

Mate- I thought headlights were for illuminating the road ahead so that you could see safely where you are going at night. They are also of course so that other road users can see you coming in poor light conditions. I do admit, on some vehicles tinted headlights do look quite cool. Show cars...

    Buying advice for a 2.2 CDTI 2004-2006 model, £2000

From what I remember, they were talking about ships moving away from heavy oil power to diesel type fuel. This will cause a shortage as other forms of transport start to need this fuel. So we should then expect the price to go up, especially as most diesel is imported anyway. Must ask a bit more...

    Buying advice for a 2.2 CDTI 2004-2006 model, £2000

I had a cdti a couple of years ago. It was an 04reg. Once I got to know more about this model via this site I too was always wondering when the usual things would go wrong giving me an enormous bill. I even started to put money in what I called the Accord account, ready for any major faults...

    Price for a fog lamp

Have you tried somewhere like www.find-a-part.com/. You put in the details of your car with the part you need, then breakers all over the country who have the part give you a ring with their price. That's the way I got a fog light some time ago. It came with the backing bracket attached so was...

    Dual mass flywheel

When I had my 2004 CTDI Accord my clutch went. I had a new clutch and just in case of future problems, a new DMF fitted as well by my local garage as they were cheaper and I knew they knew what they were doing. The parts were aftermarket made by Blue Print. I kept the car for another 30k miles...

    Clutch Replacement

Ben- If you can find a good independant garage, don't be worried about taking expensive business away from Honda. When my clutch went on my previous CTDI I sourced my own DMF and clutch from a car parts firm. They were a Blue Print brand. Real good garage local to me who when asked, understood...

    Not very impressed!

I think Stevens problem is the same problem I had when I owned an 04 CTDI Accord, a mental issue. What I mean by that is I never expected a Honda to have so many expensive potential problems. It drove me mental thinking about what was going to go wrong next. Should have joined this club before I...

    CTDi Exec 04 120k

Hi Paul I too had a broken fog light when I had my 04 CTDI. Like you I got another one from a scrappie. If yours like mine came with the bracket that it attaches too as part of the deal, then it is not a bumper off job at all. All you need to do is undue the small phillips head screw on the...

    Saloon boot locking

It does the same on my car, it's normal. Just got to be careful when just unlocking the boot, to not put your keys down in the boot and close it. You will be walking home!

    Driveshaft Bearing replacement

If they mean the bearing that the offside driveshaft runs through, it is about £40 from Honda. Replaced mine as a matter of course when I replaced my drivshaft.

    Discs and Pads?

I have used Blue Print aftermarket pads and discs on my Accord CTDI, as well as on my previous CTR. I can't give you an exact price, as I get a small discount from a car parts delivery company, because I regularly go there to train all their drivers. You can of course get them from motorists...
