2004 AccordTourer2.0
Hello everyone,

I thought I would share my experience with you. I recently found a 2006 2.4 Honda Accord Tourer that was being sold for parts (for cheap) and decided to upgrade my 2004 2.0 litre Honda Accord Tourer. I was able to fit the side skirts without an issue even though one of the plastic pieces that connect to the side skirt by the front fender was missing. I was able to use the piece from my 2004 side skirts which left a slight gap. This was covered by the addition of mudguards which I also purchased. My other addition was a facelift steering wheel and airbag which was a direct fit. I was able to keep the same clock spring as the plugs were the same (all steering wheel controls and horn work). Oddly, my facelift wheel doesn't seem to be backlit which I thought was the case for all facelift steering wheels (I don't think it is a question of not providing power to the lights but I may be wrong). Lastly, I fitted a facelift rear wing which incidentally I think looks better (extends further and has a slit for air to pass through). The only difficulty I came across was fitting the washer nozzle which I was able to do by removing part of the tubing attached to the rear tailgate on my 2004 and connecting the nozzle directly to the tubing that comes through from the other side. I'm not sure this is water-tight as I removed a rubber piece that was quite obviously designed to keep water from getting through but no problems so far despite some heavy rain. I was tempted to buy the front bumper as well but it seems the front grill is wider on the facelift model (although headlights are the same shape) and the chrome piece on the front lip of the bonnet is absent on the facelift. Finally, I was able to find a set of OEM wheels that were only available on facelift 2.4 Executive models and are rare as hens teeth (even though these came as standard in the USA on the facelift Acura TSX - American version of the Euro Accord)
As a side note the American-market Accord sold as a Honda (the JDM Aspire sedan only) shares the interior with the Euro Honda Accord, the Acura TSX has a slightly different, more upscale interior. This means the Euro market Accord is an exterior of an Acura TSX and an interior of an American-market Honda Accord (JDM Aspire).

You can tell mine is a pre-facelift by the roof rails which on the pre-facelift are painted silver and slightly shorter in length as well as the front bumper, bonnet and headlights.

Spent the summer upgrading mine (same accord as yours).Kept mine prefacelift fitting types bodykit fully refurbed pentas, overhauled and painted brake calipers,LED interior mood lighting, new steering wheel cover, carbon fibre B pillar wraps.Already fitted twin exhaust, privacy glass tints, angel eye lights along with other stuff last year.
Still so much i want to do yet but reckon ill take a break till the spring lol

My next step is going to be installing LED footwell lighting. Any tips on how to do it... I would like to have them come on with door open and fade out when the door is closed like the dome light. However, I would also like to add a switch to turn them on while driving if needed. Any one out there done this mod?

I posted this in the gallery but thought it might be nice to add it here. I have also added a pick of the facelift steering wheel which I purchased for 35 euro bucks and is a much nicer looking wheel (notches at 10 and 2 and darker color on steering wheel controls). I refurbished the leather with the colourlock kit for another 35 euros. This requires taking sand paper the wheel which I was a bit worried about but it came out much nicer after applying the dye and finish. It feel like a new car now!

That looks immaculate sir!

Oh not sure on the best solution for the interior lighting setup your looking for.You could have tapped into dome lighting circuit but as you want them on when driving this wont work.
Mine only cost me £10 off ebay lol but amazingly the quality is fantastic. One LED strip for each footwell, ample cabling and even high strength 3M adhesive that ensures they dont fall off.So far so good.Came with remote and a musical setting so they flash to the beat of the music (not my thing lol kids love it though!)
Installed in under 1 hour roughting wiring behind dash and centre console trim with remote sensor behind little centre dash door so hidden when not needed.
Perfect result, i wanted no mess in the cabin.Whole lot hidden so you wouldn't even know it was there.
I rarely recommend anything off ebay but this i will.If you want product detail let me know ill post it up.

I've done similar but plugs into the cigarette socket in centre console, permanently on but can be switched off if required. Why the need to be off when driving? Mine have Bluetooth connectivity to an app on my phone but app drained battery so would go for the remote control one as above. I just set them permanently to red as It compliments the dashboard lighting and deleted app.
