Order your oil with club discount from our sponsor Holdcroft Honda. They will know how many litres the autobox needs, cant see it being more than 2 or 3 litres.

    brakes

Unfortunately the 8th gen hasn't sold in big numbers, and as most have been company cars, modding hasn't been happening a lot, so there aren't many parts, except the very pricey Mugen body kits. Cant see there being much new as the 8th gen has stopped production now. If you want to mod you'd be...

    Manual transmission fluid change

Yeah I do my own oil changes. So I know what you mean. The bonus of getting the dealer to do it is if something goes wrong you have a guarantee, whereas if you break it yourself you have to pay for it...

    Manual transmission fluid change

Honda do the change for £75 fixed price, so might be worth getting it done there.

    auto trans fluid change

I had it done at Honda for £75. Its a bit more involved than a manual box, they have to have it at temp, then cycle through all the gears to check it all works. Not worth messing with it yourself for £75.

    remap

Dont think you can achieve much as its not a turbo engine. A Panel filter and a sports exhaust might give you another 10bhp or so.

    8th gen rear spoiler

2008 8th gen is a pre-facelift, the facelift happened in 2012. As far as I know the boot lid stayed the same, so it should fit. Call our parts experts at Holdcroft Honda in Stoke, ask for Gareth and Lee, they can give you club discount also.

    Keyless entry

Its a misleading phrase that. It is 'keyless entry' as in its remote central locking, so you don't use the key to get in the car. But not like the more modern version where the car scans the remote in your pocket, so you don't have to press the button.

8th Gen 2.2 dtec Front Brake pad and disc replacement suggestions

This is why I just got my new discs and pads from Honda, is more expensive, but they work properly and no squealing. Think it was £250 for front discs and pads.

    Cars going in for repairs.

Have you tried disconnecting the battery for while Peter, this can reset a lot of these elec issues? Make sure you have your radio code before you do it though.

2009 Accord ES GT manual petrol estate

The 2.0 petrol is a good compromise, fairly powerful at 156ps, it will do 40mpg on the motorway and 30mpg around town. No cambelt to change as its a chain, keep it running on Honda 0w20 oil and it will run forever. Just valve clearance to check at 75k miles. Re canbus, I think you mean can...

Do I need to replace my Accord's sump guard (big plastic thing)

Quite a few 8th gens being broken for spares on Ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR6.TRC2.A0.H0.Xhonda+accord+2009+breaking&_nkw=honda+accord+2009+breaking&_sacat=0 Its not essential, but probably helps with drag, so maybe better mpg, keeps the...

Advice please on purchasing a 2011 Type S

Hi Keith and welcome, Depends on your annual mileage if diesel makes more sense. Also the petrol models are more reliable. The 2.0 is a good compromise, fairly quick at 156ps, economy can be upto 45mpg on the motorway, and no dpf to worry about. If you do a lot of heavy traffic, might be worth...

    Bodywork quotes

Bodywork quotes are very variable, seems to me to be down to the quality of the preparation and how many coats they do. Obviosly a quick £150 blow over, will look good for a couple of years, but will have less coats and be a quicker job with less prep. If you plan to keep your car for several...
