Car has been driving fine and this morning while driving to uni the light came on. Code reader shows 1166 and 1167. I erased the code but the light came back on the instant I started the engine (it has done this twice) Could anyone give me a start point before I head down to the garage please...

Where can you get a replacement EGR valve new for 60-70? I have been quoted way in excess of that.

Yes same code each time. VTEC gave it a proper clean and it takes a couple of weeks each time to come back on. The car is predominantly used for town, stop/stsrt driving with very little motorwar driving. Code P1491 EGR Valve Lift Insufficient Detected

Posted some time back that the dreaded eml had come on. Got the RAC to check it, egr valve insufficient lift - car acted no differently. Advice on here was to go and see Andy at VtecDirect. Took it there and they gave it a proper degunge and all was fine for about two weeks and it came on again...

Mine did Tony but I had to agree that with them. The fixed price is just for the belt change. They argued that at 70k the tensioners didn't need doing. I just told them that if they included that for the £300 I would have it done and they agreed.

I dont know whether this will help but the u480 I have just purchased came with a cdrom with DTC library on it. Basically its an adobe front end where you choose from a drop down list of car manufacturers and enter the code. Its only 17mb so if you need it I can either upload it somewhere or...

To get at the top double din you have to remove the control panel facia. There are three screws that hold it in above the clocks (speedo etc) remove those. Then gently pry out the 3 switches on the right (cruise control etc) and disconnect the plugs. BE AWARE there is a 4th retaining screw...

Unfortunately, I'm not that mechanically minded. What would I be looking at to have this done? (cleaned not replaced?) Just checked with Honda... over £300 for a new one... yet yank websites quote $123.. about £70. How on earth do they justify it?

RAC guy came and went - took 20 minutes to find ****** obd adaptor. Hidden behind carpet on passenger side right next to centre console. Anyway - CODE 643 - EGR Lift insufficient. He has reset the light which has not come back on. He advised to take it for a blast on motorway for half an hour...
