Make sure it says a/c off on your control panel , if it doesn't then the a/c will switch on or off when ever it feels the need to . From what I can work out if it doesn't say a/c off then it will be in some sort of Eco or stand by mode.

Most of the time it's on an exchange basis so your not likely to get the old one back. They tend to re use as many of the parts as they can .

White spirit is very good for removing tar spots plus it's cheap and doesn't do any harm to your paint work .
