Impressed with my mpg, what's yours?

New personal record for me. 840 miles on 54.74 litres of supermarket diesel. 69.7 MPG. Warning light came on at 821 miles This was a combo of 55 mph motorway driving :D , very careful driving on A roads and a smattering of traffic. Even took the spare wheel out to save weight lol.

Impressed with my mpg, what's yours?

900 miles!! it's a wonder you didn't clog the fuel filter bringing up all the crud at the bottom of the fuel tank I came on here wondering if anyone could beat the personal record I set tonight in my pre facelift 2.2 saloon 773.1 miles (only drove 22 miles on the warning light). Calculated...

Got the job done for £50 and a few cups of tea by a pair of mobile mechanics :) They came on Friday, adamant he didn't need a drill, 90 mins later "uh, I should have bought a drill, this is corroded" Came Monday morning and did it in an hour

    DIY - ABS Sensor Change

£15 ! Wow bargain.. ordered one thanks a bunch Seems to be a 1 hour max job to fit it too. Might get the whole thing done for less than Honda charged for the diagnostics and a road test

    DIY - ABS Sensor Change

I know :( first time in 5 years of Accord ownership at least Too bad I couldn't do it myself with the OBD code reader I have. Anyway good news is that it isn't the VSA module that I feared. It is the left rear ABS sensor that needs changing (reading this thread it is always the left rear lol)...

    DIY - ABS Sensor Change

Booked it in at local Honda for the £90 diagnostics check this Friday I read online that they have diagnostics equipment that indys won't, so for the sake of a few more quid I will get them to diagnose If it is the VSA modulator then I can expect them to quote ~£1800 In which case I'd buy the...

    DIY - ABS Sensor Change

I wonder how much I'd have to pay to install it too (no chance me doing anything more complex than wiring a dashcam :D ) But I don't want to replace the VSA if the problem is something else of course

    DIY - ABS Sensor Change

OK, I will check it on the OBD reader this week Yes, the garage warned me it could be the modulator, which would cost so much it wouldn't make economic sense to fix it MOT in a month too.... would like to get this fixed, rather than just cross my fingers and hope it behaves for the test

    DIY - ABS Sensor Change

Pardon me for bumping an old thread :) The 3 lights came on for my iCDTI a few weeks ago. Took it to the garage and they plugged it into their diagnostics and all 4 wheels had a comment about "ABS sensors not working" The garage did some tests on the road and in the workshop and say the ABS...

    Timing chain replacement

Sounds like a good mechanic can do the timing chain without damaging the injectors. But if I get a quote from a mechanic to change the timing chain, he isn't going to take his time with easing the injectors out so they will get damaged.... don't know how to approach this efficiently Thanks...

    Timing chain replacement

Please do that would great. Presumably the OP was told to change injectors as his were deemed to need replacement anyway, and not just because the timing chain was due. Comes to US 148 for me. Not sure if that includes VAT though , but even if it does not, it is still less than GBP 350

    Timing chain replacement

Can you link me to where you bought the kit please? Is the oil pump necessary for changing the timing chain? Any reason why you didn't get the injectors done too?

    Timing chain replacement

Wow that is cheap. To clarify this is for the timing chain + injectors? What mileage did you get it done on? Was it making any noises?

    Timing chain replacement

Bumping this old thread <_< I find myself in the same dilemma as bwdrew. My Accord is on 141k now. Original clutch still (which is fine for normal driving), but there is a rattle which may be the timing chain. Has anyone had the chain & injectors done for a reasonable price lately? Will give...

    Stolen Exhaust

Thanks chaps. Yes the man said it needed a new flange, but I didn't really follow what that is Taking it to the man tomorrow. £540 inc VAT. Could be worse... They said the parts were £300, they want £150 labor and then £90 VAT Not sure if they are getting me an original cat or a cheap one at...

    Stolen Exhaust

Wow nice find at £139 for the cat No luck on the CCTV front :( I park away from the main building to reduce the chance of door dents, but get the cat stolen for my troubles I've booked it in for a free exhaust check at my local national tyres & autocare on Monday. If all it needs is a new cat...
