    Exhaust fumes from engine bay

I read on a post that working with injectors can be tricky to not damage them and specialist tools may need to be used. Amazing how a little seal can make the engine sound look and smell like it’s a goner. It’s purring along now (as much as a diesel can purr)

    Exhaust fumes from engine bay

Dealer service dept was out the door with work. Cars waiting 2wks to be looked at. Left car with them and now I don’t know when it will be looked at or how much it will cost to fix. I hope it’s a quick inexpensive repair.

    Exhaust fumes from engine bay

I'll have honda take a look at it tomorrow morning, as fumes in cabin is dangerous. Sometimes it is hard to pinpoint leak, as fumes could be finding some easy path to escape. Just checked my invoices, and see it was 2yrs ago that honda did egr pipe replacement, at a cost of 430eu. :-{ i could do...

    Exhaust fumes from engine bay

I had exhaust fumes coming into the cabin last year on my '09 Honda Accord 2.2D EX Auto diesel (175k mls) and it turned out the EGR pipe was cracked, so i had it replaced which fixed the issue. Today, the engine sounded a bit 'tappetty', and i could see smoke coming out of bonnet side from...

    DPF heat shield

Thx for the interesting replies. Looks easy to remove - 4 bolts, and would look well if refurbished properly, although to remove rust, prepare, undercoat/prime, topcoat sounds less than straightforward due to the high temp. I didn't want to spend the €123 on a new one :) @...

    DPF heat shield

The DPF heat shield can tarnish greatly over time. Rather than fork out for a new one, has anyone tried to refurbish one themselves?

    Front seat belts

have you tried moving the seat? moving seat down and back will make the seat belt easier to fasten. there is also an adjustment on the door pillar which won't affect fastening, but may help with comfort.

    Pollen Filter

best to use the honda one....as it is oil impregnated, and engineered to suit the car. some aftermarkets have less pleats, so less surface area, and also different filtration levels, and air throughput. worth paying the extra for the genuine honda one, especially when it takes 1min to fit it...

Engine shutting down while driving for no reason

a known issue i had with my previous mk7 accord petrol model was not closing the fuel filler cap fully. You need to ensure it is turned several 'clicks'. If not, car can go into 'limp' mode while driving down the motorway.

    Audio and subwoofer

8th gen has about 12 speakers in the cabin. i'm a bit confused about the below genuine honda accord speaker upgrade:: http://www.glynhopkinpartsonline.co.uk/product/Accord_Upgrade_Speakers%2C_Dual_Cone_08A55-TL0-600A# I'm looking to upgrade the speakers, but the webpage mentions: "Note: Not to...

How to play music from i phone through car stereo via Bluetooth?

i couldn't get the bluetooth working for iphone audio either, but as John mentions, a USB stick loaded with songs plays nicely through the AUX channel via the USB connector in the center console box.

    Full size spare wheel

i did the same. There was that silly tyre repair kit in mine, and the fluid was out of date, and is not good for the tyre, even if it does fix the puncture. I went with the full size (steel) replacement. While it sits proud, i bought a nice fitted cover on ebay to go over it, and am pleased...

Poor MPG on my 09 Auto Accord

I'm also disappointed with the 2.2 I-DTEC MPG in my '09 Accord EX Auto. Am getting 33MPG. Mostly Town and occasional 20mile round trips, but was expecting better. I've just changed my Air Filter, and have reset, and that may help. Also, am due an oil change, so will ensure fully synthetic 0/30...
