The auto box blunts the engine in the 2.0. I tried one before buying my car in 2006, and 126K miles later with the manual box I'm extremely happy with my decision. Still on the original clutch, fingers crossed.

Is a saloon. And yes, I'm afraid it will be a Honda one, just trying to make sure there are no other good options. The original exhaust lasted almost 16 years, so it will be peace of mind, if not the wallet, to go for a genuine exhaust.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. But I don't know a reputable company around here (Fife or thereabouts). What is the approximate cost of a custom stainless job? I'm not looking for performance gains, just a good exhaust system that lasts.

Thanks! That's one option, but the close one has just one Accord, and is a diesel one. Accords ave very rare in that yard. Also, not sure I'm keen on fitting an old probably rusty salvaged exhaust.

2.4 Accords in decent conditions are very hard to find. I remember a couple of years ago one appear on the Honda approved used stock, I called right away to secure it, and it was already gone.

My previous car (first one owned by me!) was a X reg Accord, saloon, automatic. Good car, but the auto box was a letdown. Before that had a Renault Laguna 1997 as a company car. Current is my beloved CL7 55 reg, owned it since 2006.

For what is worth, I had the same issue, vibration when accelerating hard, between 55 and 70 mph in 4/5th gears. Gone after driveshaft replacement.

I recon I killed my alternator after 10 years (replaced in 2015 by Honda, a £500 ouch) because I forgot that batteries do not last 10 years. The alternator was working overtime.
