    Gearbox Oil Specs

Hi all, sorry the reply is late. Still quite happy with it, after driving a bit more I've found once everything's warmed up there's barely any difference to how it was in normal driving. 1-2 & 2-3 casual/slow shifts feel quite mechanical as previously mentioned, it reminds me a bit of my old...

    Gearbox Oil Specs

So in the end I went with the shell spirax 75w-90, which I know it thicker but we had more of it so that's what it came down to The motul one would've been my first choice but as you mentioned @Bounder I'm not sure what effects having the LS additives would've had. I would ***ume next to none...

    Gearbox Oil Specs

The thing that concerns me with the MTF3 oil, obviously i know my gearbox was designed to use this oil, is that i can't find really any information on it, the MSDS i can find are very vague and lack information compared to others i have seen. In addition to this the oil it self seems to be...

    Gearbox Oil Specs

Hi all, I'm doing a service on my accord tomorrow and would like to change the gearbox oil too. I'm right in thinking that Hondas MTF3 is 75W-80? I test & develop race gearboxes and hypercar gearboxes so have access to a range of "suitable" automotive oils What would be the best out of the...

Competition clutch was £450 plus vat, doesn't include flywheel!! Also it'll be a modified CTDI kit. A company called RTS, they do clutch's and brakes etc, they have quoted me a hybrid clutch and dual mass flywheel for £647.07 inc vat and postage. It can handle up to 603Nm torque!! I will...

I'm probably going to fit a type s clutch kit after all, the competition clutch one is probably the best option but too expensive for me. I'm going for a progressive torque application instead of a low-end high peak so it should be okay. Sorry I wrote a big message didn't realise it was limited...

Competition clutch makes a kit for the civic CDTI, they are able to modify it to fit directly to the accord DMF flywheel (they will need the flywheel to work off) which I was quoted at £450 +vat! From all the research I have managed to find, the LUK DMF should be able to handle the power even...

Yeah I'm still debating what to do, CG motorsport do dual friction clutch kits for the civic CDTI, it fits to the accord flywheel but you'll need 1.5mm of washers to space the cover out (I think it was 1.5mm) but that can be fitted to the DMF. I have heard a lot of bad things about this company...

I'm going to run a boost gauge, see if there's any point in adding a controller. Do you know what the max boost is? When I get paid I'm going to make an induction kit (45 deg reducer, airflow meter adaptor and apexi air filter), a 550mm intercooler which should just fit in the gap.

    Anyone have experience with SMF?

Thank you all for your help. A SMF would've been the last resort as I have never heard good things about them, if I were to use one I would've made sure that the clutch plate was sprung not a solid one to absorb some of the vibrations however how much it would've helped by I do not know. I'm...

    Oil recommendations please

I use Exol oil, I believe a lot of others on here use that brand too. I use 0w30 for my I-DTEC, however, I'm sure their other specs 5w30 and 5w40 are just as good. Great value for money and really good quality, I change mine every 8k miles and it comes out clean every time. Rob

    Borg & Beck Disks/Pads

I use Mintex discs and pads all round on mine, I recently changed them (not sure what they were before) and I have no issues. I've used Mintex on most of my cars, the price and quality are really good, Pagid is probably better but you pay a big premium for that :) It was about £75-80 for front...

    Anyone have experience with SMF?

Hi all, Does anyone know the difference between the N22A and N22B flywheels? Competition clutch have developed a kit for the civic which, with a few adjustments should be able to fit the accord. This may sound really stupid, but I cant fit a N22A flywheel to mine can I? @F6HAD you've probably...

    Any experience with lowering springs?

I still haven't :( I was planning to buy coilovers but I have other mechanical work to do first before I buy them. My shocks are all original on 167k miles so I doubt fitting lowering springs will help it much. A new set of shocks and springs will be around £400-500, a set of Teins or BC's are...

    Anyone have experience with SMF?

Thank you, mine currently has a map but i guess a stage 1 as its 190Hp 420Nm torque, also has had DPF-EGR delete. I plan on fitting a custom intake, larger intercooler, run a boost controller and maybe a few other things (Maybe just fully remove the DPF/EGR system why not haha). Not loads, but...

    Anyone have experience with SMF?

Hi all, My car has ticked over 167K miles and the clutch has started to slip more under boost :( It's the original so I can't complain haha!! I'm going to get a standard LUK DMF and type s clutch kit but I'm wondering if anyone has converted a 2.2 I-dtec to SMF? And if so what are their...
