Is there a permanent fix for the squeaky clutch?

I lubed mine with motorbike chain lubricant. Came in an aerosol with a long thin straw. Details are in one of the other posts on here about the clutch pedal, I'll see if I can find it. Press the clutch pedal fully down and a small hole becomes visible. Shove the straw in the hole and give it a...

Left hand direction indicator flashes twice more often than right one

I once had an issue with an indicator not working occasionally. Clean the contacts and then get a small flat screwdriver and gently prise them upwards to ensure a decent connection on the bulb. Over time the springiness goes and they don't press on the bulb as firmly as they should.

    2008 Tourer advice

With those miles and history, it looked good on paper, and with blue/purple pearlescent paint it looked stunning, but it turned out it was a dog. All kinds of alarm bells went off so I walked away.

    Power steering pump

The bearing. The pulley had a lot of side to side movement. With the new one fitted - bonnet up, engine at 2500rpm, the tensioner is steady. Turn the steering lock to lock, and the tensioner noticeably moves, presumably because there's load on the steering pump which is tightening the belt...

    Power steering pump

Turned out the belt tensioner was completely shot.

    Quite pleased :)

I had a 2.0 Executive for 7 years. Had it regularly serviced, and literally nothing ever went wrong with it. It had 147k on the clock when I eventually parted with it, and it always started first time and ran as sweet as a nut. In some ways it was a better car than the 2.2 diesel 7th gen that...

    DPF What is it?

How much for DPF removal? On premiertuning.com it says from £395 If I took it to a main dealer for a service, would they notice or care that the DPF had been removed?

    2008 Tourer advice

Thanks - that article mentions software updates. The car I'm going to look at is a 2008 model (so one of the first 8th gens). As it has full Honda service history, will any software updates have been applied as part of the services?

    DPF What is it?

If I go to look at a car with a view to buying it, how can I tell if the DPF is knackered?

    2008 Tourer advice

Okay, thanks for that. Whatever size the boot, it's bound to be more practical than my 7th gen saloon. What's "the DPF thing" and how do I check for a knackered one? The main advice when I bought my 7th gen was to check the clutch. Is that still an issue or have Honda sorted it for the 8th...

    2008 Tourer advice

Apologies in advance as I know this has probably been asked before... I've seen a 2008 Tourer with 64k on the clock and full Honda service history (8 stamps in book), and I'm seriously considering part-exing my 7th gen for it. What should I look for when checking it out?

    Power steering pump

Where would I get a pump bearing? Which would work out the cheapest? Remove pump, replace bearing, re-fit pump, or Remove pump, replace with new pump. I can't be certain of that. It might have been changed as part of the major service it had, although I don't recall seeing that on the bill.

    Oil Service '07 icdti 2.2

I got a genuine fuel filter from Holdcroft with the discount code / secret password from this site. Great service from them, definitely recommend them. My man in the garage said it was a bit fiddly to fit, mind. :)

    Power steering pump

My 2007 car with 106k on the clock has started making a slight whining noise when the engine is warm. It changes pitch with the engine revs, and is a lot louder when turning. I suspect the power steering pump. How much can I expect to pay to have a new one fitted?

    bumper trim help

Fog lights wouldn't fit in that gap - on models with fog lights, they are inwards from that air vent. I know from experience that facelift 7th gens in scrapyards without front end damage are incredibly rare.

    Nice 2.4 Type S

Spotted this on Auto Trader. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/used-cars/honda/accord/used-honda-accord-2-4-i-vtec-type-s-4dr-rochdale-fpa-201509156946179 What a very tasty car, and incredibly low miles. Wonder if he'd do a straight swap for an '07 2.2 EX ?

    CLICKING CLUTCH PEDAL!

The motorbike chain grease works a treat. Very easy to apply too. Well, easy compared to the Molykote!

    thoughts on this grill

Definitely not for me, but don't let that put you off. I'm sure it's of tremendous aerodynamic advantage. I don't think it's legal for UK roads anyway, due to there being nowhere to put the number plate.

    CLICKING CLUTCH PEDAL!

This is a great tip, thanks for that. I've still got half a tube of Molykote in the garage but the nozzle is about 4 times the diamater of the lube hole behind the pedal, and I am not exactly the most petite, so I've been putting off another application of it.
